Bayern Munich Joins Sorare, The Blockchain Fantasy Soccer Platform

Bayern Munich has announced a collaboration with Sorare, the fantasy soccer platform that has been making waves among enthusiasts. The blockchain-based platform has already been in collaborations with more than 100 club sides from top leagues around the world.

The Bundesliga club announced to its fans that the platform is among the best with its partnership with clubs spanning the top 20 leagues globally.

Sorare simulates soccer for players who have to select their tournament teams from 10 blockchain-based players. The five man on each side Ethereum-based soccer platform has grown in popularity in the past months. Some of the top clubs that are featured on the platform are Paris Saint Germaine, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and PSG.

Bayern is not new to blockchain collaboration, having partnered with Stryking Entertainment in the latter’s digital collectible project of Bayern players. The non-fungible business has seen great interest over the years as seen with Crypto Kitties.

The digital collectible partnership with Stryking Entertainment authorizes the company to produce card tokens of Bayern players uses as momentos and for gaming. These cards are trade-able and their values are based on the real-life value of the trader it represents.

Sorare which has recently launched its services in the US is rated the third most popular fantasy soccer platform by Nonfungible, a rating platform dedicated to non-fungible collectibles.

Data from the platform states that Sorare has a trade volume of $243,000, with a global ranking of third. Axie Infinity holds the top place with volume three times that of Sorare.
