
The CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao met with the president of the Central African Republic, F. A. Touadera today, August 5. This was revealed in a recent Twitter post by the Zhao in which he wrote,
“Just met with President of Central African Republic @FA_Touadera.”
The Binance executive added that the discussion with the president covered topics such as education, investment and regulatory framework. He said that the adoption of cryptocurrencies was also high on the agenda discussed.
A Debate for Adoption
According to the Binance chief, he notified the president that he would be casual in the meeting. Even though he attended in a simple long-sleeve shirt, folded up to the elbow.
CZ has been at the fore-front of pushing for the promotion and adoption of digital currencies, even as the exchange that he leads seems to benefit from the growth of the industry. The CEO of Binance also said that he was part of a debate during the meeting, details of which would be made public soon.
According to Tajo Crypto, the central African country is the second to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender. It has also developed its own non CBDC called Sango coin. This has been used to drive crypto developmental initiatives in the country. They added that the meeting with the Binance founder is a step in right.
Driving The Economy
The Binance chief executives believes that cryptocurrencies would be an important factor that will drive growth in Africa, considering that many are unbanked in the continent.
In a comment at the inroads made by Binance in driving crypto adoption, a Twitter user, Pinnacle Metaverse, stated that the Binance founder has maintained the strategy he has used since he started promoting the exchange and crypto adoption.
“Your strategy is still the same as when you first started, starting from backward countries and slowly infiltrating big countries”
