Do not be surprised when you receive a blackmail email anytime soon asking you to send bitcoins to the sender or risk having your internet porn escapades with minors exposed to your friends.

A Bitcoin blackmail email has been circulating for months possibly originating from one scammer, though it is likely that others have started using the same email after editing the receiving wallet address.

The Scam Email

The most common email is similar to this one sent to our official email address:

Obviously, the fraudster hopes that the recipient may have been patronizing child porn and may not want such damning evidence exposed to the public and face possible arrest.

Even though it is a morally reprehensible act dealing with child porn o any other for that matter, we hope that this would alert folks to realize that the fraud email was randomly sent to known holders of digital currencies by the fraudster.

The Right Response

If you receive such emails, it is best not to respond. The fraudster would have no option than to give up if they waited until the expiration of their deadline. Do not send your coins to a scammer just because they threatened to expose you. They don’t really know anything they claim to know.

After some days, they would send in another email as a follow up with even more threats, but don’t bother about them. They’ll tire after months of waiting.
