Cryptonluck: A Casino Manipulation Scam

There are sites that fraudsters set up with the intention to steal funds from people they make contact with. This sort of site may have little or no traffic and still cause incalculable harm to users as we shall see with Cryptonluck.

This is supposed to be a cryptocurrency-based online casino. But our investigation shows that the intention of the owner is to direct individual players to the site with the promise of a big win. For instance, the owner could approach a user on Telegram and promise them they could help the player cheat the casino and win big.

Our experience with this sort of casino manipulation scam is that the fraudster sent me this message:

“I want to offer one interesting deal and make some money with you in 20 minutes. You must not give me money. I am a member of the support service on the same site with the cryptogerm. You are interested?”

They would later post a link on the casino claiming that they are the moderator of the casino with powers to influence who wins the jackpot. They also claimed that they cannot make themselves the winner since the site administrator knows their IP address and tracks their transactions, etc. The bait would hopefully be enticing enough for the potential victim to sign up and make the deposit.

They have chosen you so you have the impression that a deposit of $70 would make you win $2000. The bounty would be split between you and the casino manipulator.

Even though it seems too good to be true, we are convinced that there are people who would still be fooled by this casino manipulation scam. Everyone should know that scams are evolving and protect their funds.
