A recent post by the IOTA team announced that the holiday was spent in a conference in Berlin, in which the IOTA Coordicide was the focus of the discussion.

The project whose whitepaper was released in the Q4 of 2019 is aimed at Internet of People (IoP). According to the release,  IoP is essential in the enhancement of internet of things (IoT) and IOTA is embracing all because it is a project in progress. It emphasized that the protocol is not an “end product” but constantly evolving.

The project team stated that the main questions concerning Coordicide have been answered and that the version 1.0 will soon be released. This would bead to full decentralization of the IOTA network as the remaining hurdles are surmounted. These comprise issues such as Cellular Automta Voting, the IOTA sharding mechanism known as slicing, Arrow autopeering and VDFs.

The team are elated at the speed at which Coodicicide is advancing and this January, the research groups which compared notes during the Berlin conference hope to put finishing touches on research and engineering specifications.
