With NFTs the vogue in the coin market, it is easy to get carried away by the many projects that are being launched daily. The good news is that there are many of these projects that have been beneficial to the coin community.
Nevertheless, we are not unaware that as the popularity of the metaverse soars, that there are many malicious players that are taking advantage of the hype to set up not-so-reliable metaverse projects. So we are looking at Dragonsea to understand what the project is offering and if this is another NFT project that you can invest in.
What is Dragonsea?
Dragonsea is a play-to-earn platform where players can participate in a virtual gaming world with the objective to surmount obstacles.
It is a role-playing platform where the player can participate in a virtual reality world by riding a dragon. According to the site, the project was:
“Inspired by Role-Playing Games and the virtual world Metaverse with Blockchain technology, we build DragonSea as a Mystic Dragon world, where there are all the elements so that players can freely immerse themselves in a real virtual universe.”
As an NFT collectible platform, the players are able to build their own army of dragons thereby becoming sorts of dragon warlords and commanders with armies at their disposal. Also, as they do this, they also own the collectibles which are mainly construction materials.
The player has ownership of real dragon warriors which they can train using in-house tools and tokens. These would enable them to build an army with remarkable strength that could lead to battles.
The immersive feature of the virtual reality world enables the player to bring different dragons with various levels of strength to battles. The responsibility of dragons in the metaverse includes guarding and protecting territories and participating in the conquest of new lands.
Participating in the game modes is rewarding to the players as they collect in-game NFTs.

Who is Behind The Project?
This project is still at the developmental stage. This can be seen from the fact that the games have not been deployed yet. Majority of the team behind it are from Vietnam with the CEO and founder, Alex Vu. The co-founder and CTO is Anh Knight. Other team members include Akira Nguyen, the CMO. Denis Bui is the Creative Director.
How Reliable is The project?
Despite having a setting of a metaverse project, Dragonsea doesn’t seem to be a very reliable project. One of the team members, Paul Baste, seems to be a fake identity. This is a red flag that wasn’t difficult to spot considering that he is the only non Vietnamese in the team.
It is not clear why they added a fake team member but this could be a pointer that you may be dealing with a fraudulent NFT project here.
Paul Baste is a fake identity. The real name of the person is Cayman Fitzhugh. He is an Instructor and native English teacher of more than 5 years of experience in teaching English. But the website presented him as Community Lead.
What Are the Red Flags?
Well, the main red flag is the fake team member. Perhaps, in a bid to make their project look international, someone added a fake identity or perhaps, the whole team is fake. Whatever the reason, it is a dubious move to use a fake identity in a project. This is not surprising since fraudsters leverage what is in vogue to deceive investors and steal their funds.
Should You Invest in This Project?
I wouldn’t know why you should go for a metaverse project such as this when there are many reliable projects that you can find in the metaverse sphere. Even if you find the prospect of a dragon war metaverse enticing, it is safer to be safe than sorry.
