Ethereum Classic is up by 26% in the past 24 hours, bringing its week long gain to 18%.
Ethereum is up by 6% in the past 24 hours. On the 7-day chart, the cryptocurrency has gained 5% over the week as the Merge, the upgrade that would see the Ethereum blockchain morph to proof-of-stake from proof-of-work consensus protocol.
The merge is still expected to happen around Sep 13-15. What’s happening today is the Bellatrix hard fork, which *prepares* the chain for the merge. Still important though – make sure to update your clients!

As the week seems to be seeing most top coins in green, BTC has gained 1% reducing its 7-day loss to -2%. Bitcoin is currently trading at $19,924, Ethereum at $1,665 while Ethereum Classic is trading at $40.
Binance Coin (BNB) Also in Gain
Binance Coin (BNB) is up by 3%, the same percentage that it gained on the 7-day chart. The coin is currently trading at $281.
Cardano (ADA), which recently flipped XRP as the 7th most capitalized coin, has gained 4%, bringing its 7-day gain to 9%. ADA is currently trading at $0.5022.
XRP is up by 4% in the past 24 hours. Its week long gain is a mere 1% at its current market price of $0.336.
Solana And Polkadot
Solana is trading at $33 after gaining 6%. This is despite making a modest gain of just 1% in the past 7 days. This implies that most of the 7-day gain was made in the past 24 hours following days of modest gains and losses.
Polkadot is up by 2% after a 7-day gain of 5%. The coin has a market price of $7.65.
Dogecoin, Polygon and Shiba Inu all made gains of 3% each in the past 24 hours although Polygon (MATIC) is the only one that made a significant gain of 8% on the 7-day chart.
ATOM is in Red
Monero (XMR) and Cosmos (ATOM) are the only tokens that are in red among the top 30 coins by market cap. All the other cryptocurrencies have made gains. Monero (XMR) is down by less than 1% while ATOM has lost 2% in the last 24 hours.
Monero is currently up by 4% on the 7 day chart, bringing its market price to $157. Cosmos (ATOM) on the other hand is trading at $12.47 while its 7-day chart shows that it has gained 6%.
