In an industry where Bitcoin that was once worthless climbed to nearly $20,000 everything seems possible. That could be why Roger Ver, the former CEO of Bitcoin.com and an avid romoter of Bitcoin cash is giving away BCH to all his Facebook Followers.
Ver who recently relinquished his position as the CEO of Bitcoin.com wrote in a Facebook post that he would give out $5 worth of BCH to all his friends on the social platform. He added that those that are not his friends who are interested in the giveaway should post BCH wallet addresses under the comment for a chance to get $1 worth of Bitcoin Cash.
According to Ver, Bitcoin Cash, the fourth largest cryptocurrency by capitalization would easily be worth $5000 in future – that is 100,000 percent increase from its current value of just $303.
It is not clear why Ver thinks that BCH would make such massive gain, though what is obvious is that this is another pitch aimed at driving adoption.
Bitcoin.com was originally set up to promote Bitcoin but Ver and the other proponents of Bitcoin Cash felt that BTC does not meet the aspirations why the inventor, Nakamoto Satoshi set it up. Since 2017 when BCH was forked from Bitcoin in a hard fork, the website has been devoted to the promotion of the new fork.
According to Ver, his $5 giveaway would be valued $5000 one day while the $1 BCH giveaway would be worth $1000 in future. Even though Ver did not disclose the date when BCH would soar to the value he projected, his post has already generated 3,100 comments and 188 shares as crypto enthusiasts post their Bitcoin Cash addresses to get the free BCH.
It is uncertain if the giveaway would get to all these people. Stefan Rust was appointed to replace Ver as the CEO of Bitcoin.com in August. In his comment as he took over he said:
“I’m hugely excited to take on the role of CEO working alongside Roger. Together we can now turbocharge the awesome team and great brand that is Bitcoin.com. […] We will play an integral part in making money work for everybody as society undergoes such an enormous and pivotal change. It’s going to be a wild ride, so don’t miss it!”
We are watching closely to see the impact the new team would make in the adoption of Bitcoin Cash.
