With the bullishness of the coin market, it is not surprising that more fraudsters are innovating ways of stealing from people. Ordinarily, fake giveaways are not new in the cryptosphere.
A scam site Telegra.ph has gone further to build a giveaway scam site instead of just creating a fake Twitter profile as fraudsters usually do.
This time, the target influential person is Vitalik Buterin.
According to a publication on the site titled “Ethereum Foundation 50.000 ETH Giveaway Airdrop” interested participants would have the volume of ETH they send to the scam address doubled.
It claimed Buterin is offering all the financial help that he could, due the financial uncertainties of the times.
The so-called promotion claims that it is available for users irrespective of their countries of origin.
According to the scam site which displayed the photo of Buterin:
“If the transaction does not process properly, please try by sending the same amount to the ETH address again, and it should go through. Your original transaction will be refunded as you can only participate once.
