Ethereum’s creator and co-founder Vitalik Buterin has made snide remarks at Bitcoin for having many middlemen. He named in particular derivative exchanges like BitMEX, stablecoin issuer Tether, and the Blockstream’s sidechain-based Liquid Network. In a Twitter comment posted on May 8, the founder said:
I really and truly think it’s the opposite. BTC people seem happy to have lots of centralized middlemen (bitmex, tether, liquid….) and it’s the ETH community that’s trying to decentralize these functions with smart contract constructions.

In the meantime, he attests to the fact that the Ethereum community is striving to disperse its ecosystem with the aid of clever contracts.
Vitalik evoked in his tweet, a thought-arousing response asserting that Bitcoin and Ethereum have the same values not-withstanding the long-standing fight between both communities.
Regardless, Buterin’s point of view didn’t sit well with other members of the Bitcoin community because they were fast to blame him of being selective and misconstrued facts.
Buterin has been one of the vocal influencers in the crypto industry and is known to point out the shortfalls that lead to centralization which is against the ideals for which Bitcoin was invented.
