What are the Top Traded Stocks Today?
“What are the top traded stocks today?”
This question is likely to be asked by two sets of people; the first group are the Day traders preparing for another day of grueling, fast paced, speed analysis and repeating patterns of shorting and taking long positions.
The second group are the long term portfolio owners who are looking for stocks with high trading volumes over a long period of time. This is to ensure that they invest in stocks that will remain on an upward trajectory in the long run.
Trade Volume
If You are using trade volumes to decide on stocks to day trade, as long as you have a substantial capital, it would be wise to broaden your search horizon to not just those 15-20 stocks your brokerage account may have recommended for you. That’s the way you can find more opportunities that are not on the radar of many other traders.
Volatility is another important consideration. It involves the amount of risk or the unpredictability in market price. The magnitude of changes a stock’s value may go through over a period of time.
This in turn means that the price of the security can and will change drastically within a short space of time, making it ideal opportunity for the fast-moving day trader. If its volatility is low, the security’s value will be relatively static, having less potential for quick profit.
The top stocks to trade today by volatility and trade volumes according to real-time reports from the NYSE, Nasdaq and AMEX, including top gaining stocks, top volume active stocks, top percent gainers and top percent losers, as reported by Marketwatch
