The Yoroi wallet team has announced that a bug that prevented some users from making upgrades to their software has been fixed. This followed complaints that a small number of users were struggling to0 migrate to the latest version of the ADA wallet. This has prompted the release of the Yoroi extension 2.3.1 today January 9, 2020.
According to a tweet by the team, those that were affected by the bug should try making the upgrade again. The team is confident that the new extension overrides the bug responsible for inability for such users to upgrade their Yoroi wallets.
Yoroi is promoted as a thoroughly tested Cardano wallet that works flawlessly having been severally audited. According to the Yoroi website,

Bug fix: small subset of users were unable to upgrade their wallet. This fixes the issue.
